The Enriched Air Nitrox blending and planning tools offer a significant benefit for divers, placing essential information at your fingertips. These tools can be utilized at any air station to facilitate the filling of a Nitrox tank from any existing mix, whether full or empty. The dive planning functionalities provide critical data including Equivalent Air Depth (EAD), Partial Pressure of Oxygen (PPO2) at your intended depth, and Maximum & Contingency Operating Depth under various oxygen partial pressures. Additionally, it suggests the optimal mix for specific depths and desired oxygen levels.

A noteworthy feature is the seamless ability to switch between Metric and Imperial/U.S. measurement systems, allowing users to adapt effortlessly to different fill station standards. Furthermore, the dive planning tools accommodate calculations for both saltwater and freshwater scenarios.

For those who routinely engage with specific mixes and common dive conditions, Nitrox Tools simplifies this process with the option to save settings that can be easily recalled and modified based on new requirements. Users can select mix values from pre-installed default options or their own saved custom mixes. When adjusting a mix in one of the tools, a list of saved mixes is available for direct use or further modification. The current mix can also be saved conveniently by clicking the "+" button, with options to rearrange or delete any entries in the saved list.

Sharing your planning or blending calculations with fellow divers is straightforward, as all tools support result sharing directly from the application. Default email addresses and subjects can be configured in Nitrox Tool's settings to streamline this process.

Nitrox Tools encompasses various blending methods, including:

  • Top Up - blend a final mix utilizing an initial mix and pressure by incorporating 100% oxygen and air or any available topping mix.
  • Bleed Down - optimize both cost and time by calculating the amount of gas needed to be bled from an existing cylinder when transitioning to a different mix.
  • Mix + Mix - create a specific final blend using remaining gas in the cylinder combined with banked Nitrox and air or another topping mix, thereby reducing reliance on pure oxygen for certain mixtures. This method may enhance safety during blending while managing costs effectively.
  • Top Off - ascertain results when topping an existing cylinder with air or another available topping mix, a common practice when divers wish to refill after an initial dive.

It is important to note that users must personally analyze their blend prior to diving. While this application serves as a useful tool, it is not a substitute for formal training and should not replace comprehensive dive planning or established Nitrox blending techniques taught in professional courses. Handling high-pressure oxygen and filling SCUBA cylinders should only be undertaken with proper training and expertise.
